TRANSPORTATION

There are a number of travel options between Athens International Airport and Syntagma Square, the location of the Hotel Grande Bretagne:

Metro: 
The Metro from the airport runs from 6:30 a.m. to 23:30 p.m. every 30 minutes and takes approximately 40 minutes. Take line 3 (blue) to Syntagma Square. The ticket cost is 10 euros.

Taxi:
Taxis are located at exit 3 in the arrivals level of the airport. There is a fixed flat rate from the airport to the city center (and vice versa), costing approximately 38 euros during the day and 54 euros at night (12:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m.) Please note that the charge is determined by the time of arrival at the destination and includes all applicable surcharges and extras.

Buses:
The X95 bus runs to and from the airport, ending at Syntagma Square in central Athens. You can catch the bus from the designated area at the arrivals level of the airport, between exits 4 and 5. The bus departs every 30 to 60 minutes and the trip to Athens takes approximately one hour. Tickets are available on the bus, from the ticket kiosk at the bus departure area, and from all Metro stations around Athens. A one-way ticket costs 6.00 euros.

Complimentary transportation will be provided during the conference between the Hotel Grand Bretagne and all venues not within a short walking distance.

Visa/Authorization to travel to Athens

Some delegates from outside the E.U./E.E.A. will require a visa to enter Greece. Should you require an invitation letter to accompany your visa application please contact us. Invitation letters will only be provided for registered delegates.

Language

The official language of the Athens Democracy Forum is English.

CURRENCY / PAYMENTS

The currency of Greece is the euro (€). Currency exchange services are available at Athens International Airport and at most banks in Athens. ATMs can be found throughout the capital. Major credit cards are widely accepted in shops and restaurants.

DRESS CODE

The dress code for all events is smart business wear.
